Dress code for class

  • Have your dance bag ready with all you need.

  • Put a smile on your face

  • Go to the restroom before class

  • Put your name on ALL your belongings in case of loss.

  • A small face towel in your dance bag comes in handy when needed.

  • A bottle of water

  • Thank your parents for bringing you to class

  • Thank your teacher for teaching you.

  • Use your inside voice.

  • Clean up after yourself 

  • Do your chores at home

  Ballet

  • Leotard- Sleeveless, short or long sleeve.

  • Color: I prefer black, but your color choice is fine.

  • Skirts attached to leotard for little ones are fine.

  • Skin tone/pink tights.

  • White socks during warm weather instead of tights

  • Ballet shoes-pink or skin tone. Full sole or split sole. NO black ballet shoes.

  • Keep in mind- canvas shoes are fine and inexpensive but they do not last long at all. By January they will be worn out)

  • Short dance skirts, leg warmers, and, warm-up attire if you choose.

 

 

   Tap shoes

  • Black lace-up or buckle tap shoes. Split sole or full sole although the split sole is more comfortable to use.

    Jazz/Lyrical/Modern

  •  Tights, leggings, jazz pants or unitard.

  •  Shorts of decent length.

  •  Full camisole tops/body fitting tops/leotard

  • Shoes: jazz shoes, ballet or lyrical slippers. Performance shoes will be at the teacher’s discretion

 

 

   Hair for all classes

  • Ponytail or a bun. Tied it up and/or tied it back. No loose hair.

"No-No:"

​

  • T shirts of any kind for any class under any circumstances.

  • Too short shorts.

  • Crop tops or bra only.

  • Sloppy dress.

  • Bare feet, no shoes appropriate for class.

  • Dancing in socks.

  • "Footies" 

  • Loose, untidy hair.

  • Distracting jewelry

  • Chewing gum, food/drinks in the class room. (Water is fine)
